Description

Custom Apple II Compatible Floppy Drive System Controller Card: An aftermarket replica of the legendary Apple Disk II Interface Card. It features a custom boot PROM (marked with the orange sticker) and dual 20-pin headers (D1 and DD2) to connect up to two floppy drives into standard Apple II expansion slots (typically Slot 6). Floppy Disk Drives: Two classic 5.25-inch internal floppy drives manufactured by Chinon (Model F-051MD) and Matsushita/Panasonic (Model JA-550-2). While natively built for IBM PC-compatible systems, these specific units have been adapted with custom multi-color "rainbow" ribbon cables to work with the Apple Disk II interface. Note: This specific setup was a highly popular and clever solution in Eastern Europe during the 1980s and 1990s to equip local Apple II clones (such as Laster, Karat, or Elwro) with more affordable and widely available PC hardware.
